Visual Arts classes for Elementary & Middle School Students  -- October 17 to December 15

Elementary Class:  All skills levels are welcome! Students are able to go at their own pace and grow as artists. This class is meant to show students the wide possibilities of art, and encourage and develop their creativity. We will focus on learning the basics of art such as drawing, color and even painting! A fun class for 3rd to 5th graders!  Registration link is below. Dates and times of class are shown on registration page.

Middle School Class:  All skill levels are welcome! Students are able to go at their own pace and skill level. We will be focusing on more traditional methods of art and techniques, such as learning about form, value, color and more. Subject matter will range from learning about how to render people to learning about how to do landscapes. This class is a great stepping stone for students interested in pursuing art in high school and/or being a student in CoSA. Registration link is below. Dates and times of class are shown on registration page.

Classes are taught by Jessica Harrison, a former art student at Coronado High School. Jessica taught the spring 2016 afternoon arts classes and received rave reviews from her students! She has a fun, non-intimidating approach to teaching art, and her focus is on inspiring a love of being creative, as well as developing techniques and individual skills.

Dance for Elementary & Middle School Students -- October 17 to December 14

Students will practice skills such as teamwork, listening, patience and coordination. Students are able to move at their own pace and aren't required to purchase shoes or extra materials for this class. Middle School Class: All skill levels are welcome! This dance class is meant to enourage creativity and enhance basic learning skills through art and movement. By practicing new kinesthetic learning skills, students gain tools that will enhance learning in other subjects.  We will focus on learning the fundamental skills from classical forms such as ballet, jazz and tap through a fusion of contemporary learning styles. We will do conditioning, across-the-floor movement phrases and in-class dance combinations focusing on strength, flexibility, coordination and personal style. Students will also have time to develop their creativity through some improvisation and choreography opportunities. This is a great class for both beginning and experienced dancers. Students are able to move at their own pace and aren't required to purchase shoes or extra materials for this class. This is a safe place for students to explore movement, learn time management skills and establish their own voice as a young dance artist. Registration link is below.
